61,2kg: A well-known local boxer, Carroll Burton, entered the tournament and won the match against Peter Sturholdt. However, it was later discovered by officials that the competitor was actually an impostor named James Bollinger. Bollinger was ejected from the competition and Sturholdt was automatically advanced to the next round.
65,8kg: Since there was no bronze medal match, Eagan and Lydon were both awarded bronze medals. Eagan’s real name was Frank Floyd and by the rules of the AAU it was illegal to fight under an assumed name. In November 1905 the AAU disqualified 65,8kg: Eagan from all AAU competitions and he had to return all his prizes.
